These hairy nose wombats and common wombats are marsupials that are native to Australia with the Southern Hairy-nosed wombats list as an endangered species. The wombats are adored all over the world. Like other marsupials, baby wombats (called Joeys) are carried in a tummy pouch while they grow. The wombat’s pouch is positioned backwards, which allows the mother to dig without getting dirt in her pouch. Another fun fact about wombats is that they excrete cube shaped poop, which apparently stops the poo from rolling off their marked territory of rocks or trees.
